Hotel Reviews of Waldorf Arc de Triomphe Hotel & Spa

The hotel is a recent refurbishment which has been done to a high standard in a contemporary style and can be best described as tall and thin. The rooms and bathroom are well fitted and a good TV and poorly stocked mini-bar available. The staff were very pleasant and the breakfast, was for a change worth paying for in a Paris hotel and was served between 7 and 11 which is very unusual. The location is good but not close to the Arc de Triomphe as the name suggests and the Metro and parking is also a reasonable distance away. The Champs Elysee is walking distance but only in good weather and not after lunch!
WE were very fortunate in that we had a private roof terrace, which made up for what would have been a slightly small room,although featuring a good sized bed.The decor throughout the hotel was good and the breakfast better than average for the usual Paris hotels.
The Hotel was far too hot and as we had a terrace, we could not leave a window open, there did not seem to be a way of reducing the heat and the communal parts were the same. The lift was too small but it is a period conversion so that is understandable. The Hotel is not particularly close to the Arc de Triomphe which was annoying as we had most of our meals and meetings arranged for the 8th arrondisement. Room not available until 3pm.

I would have liked to have seen the quality of the rooms- for a four star hotel they were in a bad state and had not been cleaned properly. I guess I went with great expectations but I was extremely disappointed with the unprofessional service of the staff.

The staff were unhelpful- they couldn't give me an extra blanket or pillow for my friend's child who was feeling poorly, the shower had not been properly cleaned- there were hairs in it and the air conditioning system did not work.
