Hotel Reviews of Fingals Hotel

Ticked all the boxes, but would have preferred a simpler menu, the food on our second evening was cold, however we chose not to address this at the time as we had such a loveley experience apart from that!!!!

The free and easy atmosphere, the welcome and the aura of the hotel was completely relaxing and home from home. No stuffed shirts here!!!
The food was only mediocre expected more for the price, the chef tries too hard!!! There were too many flavours which interacted and blew away my tastebuds!

A lovely hotel, with cheerful attentive staff, the food was excellent and we thought they had their priorties about right.

Location fantastic, laid back atmosphere, lovely staff and fantastic food.
Bedroom was dated

We will not be returning and will not be recommending the hotel to family or friends because of the problem we had of the shower not being usable. We would also suggest that the route which takes you through 6+ miles of narrow lanes is NOT suggested, instead the route from the Dartmouth direction (via Dittisham) is the only route that should be used. I have had to replace a tyre on my car after it was punctured by a protruding rock going through theses narrow lanes.

The friendliness of the staff (including the house dogs), the food and the atmosphere (more country house guest than hotel).
The shower was unworkable and the flow of hot water was very slow - so we were unable to take showers or wash our hair, we had to take a bath. This needs sorting out.

We were utterly disappointed. Querky is fine but damp patches, wallpaper coming off the walls, dust on ledges and dried food on dining room chairs is not acceptable - especially for £110 per night! Also, we booked two roms - one had a television and the other didn't! The place itself was wonderful - in fact, idyllic. However, it does need attention - and a good scrub up!

We did like the querkiness
