Hotel Reviews of Campanile Auxerre - Monéteau
Posted by Alison, (2007-05-13)
The proprietor was friendly. Restaurant pricing was reasonable, and the restaurant service was good.
The toilet bowl was stained dark brown, which is unacceptable. The room was cold in May. The room was tired and required deodorising.

As always, Campanile are good value with everything you want for an overnight stop. The restaurant was ok and buffet starter and dessert a great idea. However, this was the only place we had trouble understanding and being understood.
Clean and quiet. Very convenient for travelling.
Nothing.

The Campanile booklet offers all th information needed to select an appropriate location - it is well worth keeping it in your car for reference. The restaurant was clean and efficently managed, however we were escorted outside to be with all the other diners, when we much have preferred inside - having driven for 9 hours, ad to be placed on a small table under cover. The meal was ok, but much better at the site in Troyes.
It was very clean and smartly furnished, particularly tne bathroom.
The air conditioning unit failed to oeprate, but one I alerted the staff to it, they responded efficiently and gave us an alternative room - this at around midnight!

Overall my son and I had a good stay at the Campanile hotel. There wasn't anything that was completely off putting. Therefore was satisfied with the hotel.
I liked the bathroom which was nice and clean.
The size of the room could have been a bit bigger and there wasn't a fridge to store things in.
